Herein, Open Source Gallery, NY, 2013

Solo exhibition.
This former double garage was turned into a gallery space in Park Slope, Brooklyn, in 2008. It had white walls but nevertheless many idiosyncratic features, corners and angles. I collected objects and materials over a period of four weeks from the streets, a secondhand store, my framers workshop, my friends´ studio, and around the gallery. I started to work in the space a week before opening with piles of styrofoam, boards, cardboard and planks. I combined this with works on paper. My work is about exploring the site, atmosphere, materials, light and the colors. For example I learned that styrofoam in the US is pink and light blue.
